Niño De Praga (Cuenca) Group's story

The credit union, "Niño de Praga," is made up of seven entrepreneurial, triumphant, and professional women who have known each other for many years. They have a great friendship and work in various jobs. They live in a beautiful sector within the city of Cuenca which is a 1999 World Heritage Site. The city is surrounded by four rivers which give it a special charm. It has many tourist locations and has a colder climate. They people still maintain the culture and traditions of their towns.

One of the group members is Alexandra. She has been part of this credit union, "Niño de Praga," for two years - time which she has established close friendships with all of her neighbors and friends. She likes this loan process because each meeting comes out of her daily work routine and the loans also help improve her small business.

Alexandra is 28 years old and a single mother of a 9-year-old girl who is studying at a small school in town. They live in a house owned by her parents and share living expenses with them. Alexandra is a nurse and is currently practicing. She has worked in a public institution for three years. In this job, she works rotating shifts. However, in order to improve her economic stability, she also sells products like clothing and cosmetics through a catalog. The money from this loan will be invested in the purchase of promotional clothing and cosmetics. Her dream is to have her own business and profits to build a home.
