A loan of $875 helped to pay for green technologies to sell to her customers.

Herodias's story

This loan will help Herodias introduce simple, life-saving technologies such as solar lamps, water filters and clean cookstoves to her community.

Herodias’ parents are farmers. Herodias wanted to be a teacher but only completed junior high school due to financial difficulties in her family. She completed a cooking and sewing course through a women’s group but became a shop-keeper. She makes additional income tutoring at a kindergarten. Herodias is a widow, aged 66.

When she heard about Kopernik’s Tech Kiosk program, she immediately jumped on board; not only for its obvious business opportunities but she sees the benefits and cost savings one can achieve by using the technology.
