Los Jardines Group
In this Group: Lisette Carolina , Justina Del Carmen , Luis Antonio
The communal bank Los Jardines is in its ninth loan cycle. They are from the Capulín community on the highway to Granada. They are humble people, yet entrepreneurial. They have a primary school education, which allows them to be very expressive. They have convinced the superintendence of the market to assign them a wooden stretch to sell their products, which they purchase for each season and sell retail at the Masaya market. Their loans have been invested in the purchase of seasonal fruits and vegetables. The loan with ADIM has given the group the opportunity of improving their standard of living, as on top of investing in their businesses, they have been able to use their profits to improve their houses. Mrs. Lissette is the mother of two children and does not count on support from their father. She believes that thanks to ADIM, she has been able to face life and cover the basic, necessary costs for her family. Also, it has permitted her children to go to school. She hopes that her children will not be touched by her same fortune, and therefore she is most determined to further her children’s studies. This communal bank has been trained by ADIM in business administration, which has allowed them to be successful in the repayment of their loans. Their dream is to obtain a farm for them to plant fruits and improve their profits. In order to do that, they have decided to save and manage their money.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
