Lolita owns and operates a business planting and harvesting a variety of vegetables for sale. Lolita has been engaged in farming for many years and earns well for the family.
Improving her farm becomes easier with access to loans from GDMPC. She had successfully repaid her previous loans used for farming. To gain a bigger harvest, she took a new loan to finance fertilizers and other expenses for the farm. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the farm to improve the general living standards of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
