A loan of $975 helped a member to purchase condiments and a variety of items to resell.

Owonifari 2 Group's story

The group OWONIFARI 2 is composed of three persons, who are friends residing in the same district. Gisèle, the group’s representative, is the one with a hand raised in the photo. She is 47 years old and did not attend school. She is married to a tailor named Pierre. The couple have three children, not all in school, but all in their care. Gisèle lives together with her husband and children.

The diverse family expenses are covered by the couple. To do so, Gisèle has been selling condiments out of her home for about fifteen years. She also sells a variety of goods, as well as “crepotes” on the side. She gets her supplies from a market in Benin.

With the goal of increasing their business, Gisèle and the other members of the group OWONIFARI 2 are requesting a loan for the first time from ALIDé.
