Gloria's story

Gloria, age 36, lives in the Wedza District of Zimbabwe. She is married with three children. She strives to provide for them day and night. Gloria buys and sells different types of goods in her general store, which opened in 2009. She sells cooking oil, sugar, salt, mealie-meal (ground maize), sugar, and matemba (dried sardines). She is volunteering at her local secondary school as a Leaner Guide, facilitating life skills sessions. Gloria intends to use the loan to expand her business by increasing her stock. Her hope is to be able to provide for her family.
