A loan of $500 helped to purchase more chicks and vaccines and to build a shelter for her chickens.

Regina's story

Regina is a 21-year-old, single woman living in the Mt. Darwin District of Zimbabwe, where she has been running a broiler chicken project for the past eight months. Regina invested in this business because of the opportunities in the market. She also found that managing and operating this enterprise came relatively easy to her. With the Kiva loan, Regina intends to build a secure shelter for the chickens, buy vaccines, and increase the number of chickens she produces every six weeks. With the profits, Regina wishes to further her education and pay her siblings’ school fees.
