A loan of $500 helped to purchase more groceries to sell.

Juliet's story

Juliet is a 25-year-old businesswoman. She has one child and lives in the Mudzi district of Zimbabwe. Because of her determination to succeed, she is a source of inspiration to many young people in her community. Juliet volunteers each week at the local secondary school as a Camfed Learner Guide, assisting students with their studies and helping clean the facility. For work, Juliet operates a grocery tuck-shop at her local business centre where she sells sugar, cooking oil, rice, flour, washing soap, soft drinks, and snacks.

Juliet will use the Kiva loan to purchase cartons of sugar, cooking oil, rice, flour, washing soap, soft drinks, and snacks to boost sales and profits. She hopes to expand her business into a retail shop if profits increase.
