Dunda Mu Yesu Group's story

Balume has been a dynamic trader and entrepreneur for the past seven years and is also a member of the "Dunda mu Yesu" business association. She is 27 years old, married and mother to two children, who are both at school. She sells charcoal in the town's main roads. She lays out her products on a counter which stretches all along the road. Her husband is also a trader. She is requesting a loan from Hekima so that she can expand her business. She is going to buy 15 sacks of charcoal. She began her business with funds she received from her husband. In the future she would like to build up her capital, buy a plot of land, and educate and feed her children. She is grateful to Hekima for its support of female entrepreneurs who are unable to access banks, by giving them loans during this post-conflict period in the east of the country.
