A loan of $500 helped to purchase more clothing supplies for her business.

Melody's story

Melody is a 20-year-old woman from the Wedza District of Zimbabwe. She volunteers every week as a Camfed Learner Guide, teaching life skills to high school students. Melody also rents a table at the local flea market where she sells bags, shoes, jeans, shirts, skirts, tracksuits, and t-shirts. She has been running her business since last year and it has enabled her to support her family.

With the Kiva loan, Melody will purchase more clothing supplies for her business. Her hope is to grow the business and open her own store. This will bring stability to her business and will enable her to change her family’s status and finances.
