A loan of $500 helped to purchase more grocery products.

Lisa's story

Lisa is a 24-year-old married mother of one from the Mt Darwin District of Zimbabwe. She sells groceries such as cooking oil, sugar, salt, matemba (dried sardines), biscuits, sweets, and stationery from her home. Lisa started the business so she could increase her family’s income. She inspires young women in her community to become economically empowered.

Lisa would like to use this Kiva loan to expand her business by purchasing more grocery products, buying items in bulk to increase her stock. She also plans to build a small shop for her business instead of operating out of her home. Lisa intends to increase business profits to better provide for her family’s needs, as well as to create employment opportunities in her community.
