A loan of $500 helped to expand her fowl run and to buy more chicks and feed.

Sylvia's story

Sylvia lives in the Wedza District of Zimbabwe, is married, and has one child. She is 26 years old. She started her poultry business in January 2010 as a way of raising income for her family. She has since gained experience and now has a capacity of 100 birds every six weeks. The business has been good so far, and she would like to keep improving it. Sylvia is often found volunteering in her community as a Leaner Guide with her local secondary school. She will use the Kiva loan to expand her fowl run and to buy more chicks and feed.
