A loan of $675 helped to buy products for women and the home.

Isabel Segunda's story

Isabel, 45 years old, travels to the municipality of Sucre and brings merchandise native of that region: rocking chairs, textiles, accessories and novelty items, to sell in the municipality where she currently lives. Five years ago, due to the need to expand her family’s income, she created this business idea and from that moment she has not rested with the intention of making it grow. Currently she is still applying for a Kiva loan, the first financing she makes to the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, through which she will buy products for women and the home that she will buy in San Pues, a town in the municipality of Sucre characterized by its textile handicrafts and products made of wood of great quality. Her goal is to strengthen the capital of her work and increase her sales and business profits, with the intention of expanding even further her level of life, although her great challenge is being able to acquire sufficient work capital to complete her dreams.
