A loan of $725 helped buy agricultural supplies for her coffee fields.

Angela's story

Sra. Cecilia is 59 years old. She completed primary school but as her parents were poor, she couldn't continue her schooling. Now a widow after her husband died a few years ago, Cecilia has two adult children who also completed primary school. They work as farmers and are her only means of support. Cecilia has grown coffee for many years. Coffee-growing has been in her family for generations, and she learned about it from her parents. She grows Lempira coffee. Her fields are near to her house so she can easily keep watch over the plants. However, her key market is 15 km away and she has to travel there by vehicle. Cecilia's goals are to continue improving her standard of living, extending her coffee fields, and diversifying into different products. Today she is seeking a loan to buy agricultural supplies to help with maintenance and protection of her crops. She hopes that Kiva lenders will help her.
