A loan of $1,350 helped to buy tablecloths, tables and chairs.

Lucelly's story

Lucelly is 31 years old, she has worked as a decorator for social events for the last 9 years. She uses this business to generate an income to support her 3-year-old son. She started the business on her own initiative following her innate creative abilities in the area of design and decoration. Lucelly's customers request the decoration of weddings, children's birthday parties, quinceañeros (15th-birthday-gala) etc. Every day from 8 in the morning until 6 in the afternoon Lucelly works at her business so that she can achieve her goal to buy a home in the future, even if her greatest challenge is obtaining customers in her town located one hour from the city of Barranquilla.

Currently she is applying for a Kiva loan, the first financing made by the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, and she will use it to buy tablecloths, tables and chairs. She intends to decorate the furniture and rent them out herself. With this loan she plans to offer a higher quality product at a better price.
