A loan of $500 helped to buy apples, bananas, oranges, cabbages, and tomatoes for the current stall and she would also like to open another stall.


Grace's story

Grace is a 37-year-old widow with five children. She lives in the Wedza District of Zimbabwe, and operates a fruit and vegetable stall at the local business center. She sells apples, bananas, oranges, cabbages, and tomatoes. Grace started the business four years ago after receiving a grant from Camfed. She is very proud of the growth that she has achieved so far. In addition to her business endeavors, Grace leads weekly counselling sessions to students as a Camfed Learner Guide . She is also very encouraging of other young women in the community who wish to start their own businesses. Grace will use the Kiva loan to buy apples, bananas, oranges, cabbages, and tomatoes for the current stall and would like to open another stall, as well.
