A loan of $275 helped purchase cacao seeds and hire farm workers.

Rubida's story

Rubida is 24 years old. She is a common law wife and from that relationship she has two children. She lives in an indigenous community called "La Boca del Ipoki." In this community everyone works in agriculture and no other type of job exists. For the moment she has sown 1-1/2 hectares of avocado but she tells us that right now the value is very low. For that reason she is preparing her farm to grow cacao and says that it is more profitable. So at 5:00 a.m. she is already at work before the heat prevents her from continuing. She enjoys farming but says that it is very hard work and tiresome. This is her first loan with MFP. With the money she will buy cacao seeds and immediately hire workers to plant them.
