A loan of $4,550 helped a member to buy a weaving machine.

Maravillosas Group's story

The A.C. "MARAVILLOSAS" group, which is starting its eighth cycle in Pro Mujer as part of Focal Collpani Center, consists of nine members and is headed by a board of directors where Mrs. Pascuala is President. The businesses that the community association members run are varied, including: fabric blankets, food sales, shuttle driving, woven blankets, and the sale of spices.

The loan that they are applying for will benefit micro-entrepreneurs where Pascuala is involved. She joined the Pro Mujer group five years ago, at the invitation of an employee of the institution who came to visit her at her home. Today she has a blanket weaving business. She started weaving several years ago, learning the art from her aunt, who she helped with her business. With the passage of time, Pascuala decided to start her own business.

The loan is to increase her capital to buy a weaving machine. She will get it from sellers in the city of El Alto and use it to commercialize her production and increase her client base. This work allows her to generate resources to support her family, as she is married and has three children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she says that she likes the training and health education that the institution offers.
