Mariuxy Cesibel's story

Mariuxi is married, she lives with her husband and two daughters. One of the girls goes to the public school in the area, and the other one is still a one-year-old baby. The live together in her parent's home in the city of Santo Domingo De Los Tsachilas, a sector of the coast of Ecuador known to be the terrestrial port of the country, since it is where the mountain range and the coast meet.

Mariuxi is very dedicated to her daughters and to her work. She goes around selling bed sheets, quilts, towels, and clothing. She has loyal customers, and she has been able to contribute to her family with this income. By the afternoon she is already back to the care of her daughters. Her husband also helps a lot, he has been working in construction for several years now.

With this loan, Mariuxi will be able to buy more merchandise, invest in awnings, pillows, and more garments, to stock her business. With this she aspires to increase her income, and then, little by little, in a not too distant future, she wants to set up a shop. She is very thankful to Fundacion Alternativa, and to all the people at Kiva, for making it possible for her to receive a loan, for which no other institution had opened doors for her.
