A loan of $2,000 helped to purchase livestock (2 oxen).

Anush's story

Anush is a self-employed woman from the Saramej village of the Lori region. She lives there with her husband and three teenage daughters. Anush also has three sons, two of whom live in the Russian Federation and work there to help their family. As for Anush's younger son, he is 19 years old and serves in the army.

The family has been engaged in agriculture for 15 years already. They breed cattle and also run a farm where they cultivate wheat, barley, potatoes and cabbages. They also own an orchard. Anush now wants to expand her family's agribusiness a little.

She has taken out a loan from a financial institution before, but because of the family's poor conditions, she wasn't able to pay it back. However, thanks to these years of tireless work, she now owns her agribusiness and it is now profitable enough to cover monthly repayments. Anush has now been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF International. The second-chance loan program provides loans to people who have bad credit history behind them and have no other access to credit products.

The requested loan will be used to buy 2 oxen.
