Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $325 helped to buy seeds, fertilizer, compost, and pesticides, etc.

Oscar Amildo's story

Oscar, age 38, lives in his own house with his wife and their three children. The children are ages 18, 16, and 12, and they currently go to school.

He grows corn and beans. He sells his products in areas outlying from where he lives. With what he manages to earn, he brings home the daily sustenance.

Oscar is requesting a loan to buy agricultural supplies for his corn and bean crops. He will buy things like seeds, fertilizer, compost, and pesticides, etc. in order to give his family a better quality of life.
