Kadiatu's story

Kadiatu is a 49-year-old from OIC Ropolo, Makeni, and area in northern Sierra Leone. She is married with five children. In 1990, Kadiatu established her food business. She began her business because she wanted to create a means of survival. She works at the business thirteen hours per day and six days per week. She says that the main challenge to her business is insufficient capital to expand her business. Kadiatu requires a loan in order to purchase bags of rice, palm oil and cooking seasonings to expand her business. She hopes that the extra income from this loan will allow her to improve her family and increase her business. In the future, Kadiatu plans to expand her business more than ever.
