A loan of $1,200 helped to buy compost, fertilizers, pesticides, seeds, insecticides, and concentrated feed for cattle and pigs.

Jose Alonso's story

José lives with his wife and children, of whom there are seven, ages 22, 19, 17, 15, 13, 10, and 5. He was very young when he undertook, as a legacy from his parents, the raising of cattle and pigs and the cultivation of basic grains. He already has more than 10 years of experience doing this independently. His family helps him with the various daily tasks. His advantage is that the properties on which he works belong to him. He will invest the capital that he needs in the purchase of compost, fertilizers, pesticides, seeds, insecticides, and concentrated feed for cattle and pigs. Having these materials will eliminate the weeds and will increase and give good development to his crops. His vision is to continue working in order to have economic resources with which he can improve the feeding , clothing, education, and health [of his family] and pay off his debt.
