Ellen's story

Ellen is a 20-year-old businesswoman, wife, and mother from the Guruve District of Zimbabwe. Ellen has been successfully buying and selling clothes for the past year; she sells jackets, shirts, skirts, lingerie, and underwear. When she is not working in her flea market, Joyce serves as a volunteer Camfed Learner Guide at the local secondary school. With the Kiva loan, Ellen intends to make bulk clothing purchases to reduce costs and boost her profits. Her hope is to grow the business and open her own store. This will bring stability to her business and will enable her to provide for her family’s basic needs.
