A loan of $500 helped to make bulk purchases of sugar, flour, cooking oil, boxes of matches, and candles.

Blandina's story

Blandina is a 20-year-old resident of the Guruve District of Zimbabwe. She has been successfully operating a tuck shop selling sugar, flour, cooking oil, and stationery for over a year in the community near her home. She often volunteers at the local secondary school as a Camfed Learner Guide and helps clean the facility. Blandina intends to make bulk purchases of sugar, flour, cooking oil, boxes of matches, and candles with the Kiva loan. With the additional profits, she hopes to expand her business and open a chain of tuck shops in her community so that community members do not have to travel so far to buy groceries.
