A loan of $1,200 helped to buy weedkiller, insecticides, manure, seed and pesticides.

Jose Santana's story

José's family consists of himself, his wife and a 17-year-old son, who is in the second year of the high school diploma. For 40 years José has made a living growing corn and beans. He works alone and his son helps him in his free time. He works from 8 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon. He learnt the skills from his father and he has the advantage of owning the land where he grows his crops. José is asking for a loan to buy weedkiller, insecticides, manure, seed and pesticides, with which he hopes to get a good harvest, supply his family and his customers and have enough income to cover his family's basic needs. He hopes to continue working the land to provide his family with a good diet, clothing, and to give his son a quality education.
