A loan of $500 helped to expand her business by increasing her stocks.

Nanette's story

Nanette is a 19-year-old businesswoman from the Guruve District of Zimbabwe. Along with being a volunteer Camfed Learner Guide, she rents a small shop where she sells groceries such as cooking oil, sugar, salt, maize-meal (ground maize), sugar beans, matemba (dried fish), biscuits, sweets, and stationery. Nanette started the business at her homestead last year and she is very pleased with how far she has come. Nanette would like to use the Kiva loan to expand her business by increasing her stocks. She hopes to grow her business even more and increase its profitability to better provide for her family’s needs. She is also interested in doing her part to create more employment opportunities in her community.
