Trinath-A Group's story

Trinath-A is a Joint Liability Group formed in the year 2014 by five active women entrepreneurs from Titilagarh town in the Bolangir district in Odisha, India to take a loan from Mahashakti Foundation to expand their existing business. For these borrowers, this will be their third loan from Mahashakti Foundation.

Sabitri (A) is one of them. The lady standing second from left in the photograph is Sabitri (A). She is a very active lady of 52 years who lives with her husband and two sons who are 27 and 24 years old. Sabitri (A) is running a multifarious business of computer and mobile services, photo studio, photocopying and cold drinks center with the help of her husband and two sons. Sabitri (A) and her husband look after the cold drinks center that is 20 years old and her sons manage the computer, mobile phone, photo studio and photocopy center. With the first loan, she purchased a refrigerator for her cold drinks center. With the second loan, she helped her son to purchase a photocopy machine. Looking into the present market demand, with this loan, Sabitri (A) wants to purchase a digital video camera for her son for outdoor shooting. Sabitri (A) says that with the income from the present enterprises, she is planning to extend the business cabin of her son. She hopes to complete the marriage of her two sons in a befitting manner.
The other four members of the group are Puspanjali, Jyotsna, Sabitri-B and Bhagya, who are running a betel nut shop, a tea & Tiffin center, an electrical repair shop and a Tiffin stall, respectively.
