Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $500 helped a member to buy insecticide, pay labor fees and purchase seedlings.

Ny's Group's story

Ny is 55 years old and a local farmer from the Dambae district of Kampong Cham province who tackles her family’s hardship by raising rice crops and planting vegetables. She has been involved in this business for four years.

Ny, who has previously taken out six loans, has formed a group of two with a fourth-time borrower in order to obtain a new loan from VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She has fully repaid her previous loans and her living conditions are getting better. As a leader, she will spend her entire loan portion to buy insecticide, to pay the fee for hired labor, to pay the reaping cost and to buy cassava seedlings for her crop.

She believes that she can gain a good yield, increasing her harvest over previous ones.
