Senegal / Poultry

A loan of $425 helped raise and resell chicks.

Mandiaye's story

Monsieur Mandiaye is 61 years old and a retired civil servant. He began poultry farming in 2010. He is married and the father of six children between 16 and 33 years old. He started his poultry farm with 50 chicks. Little by little, he is improving his sales. Currently he can raise up to 150 birds, and this is why he is asking for a loan. At the same time, he will buy bird feed (starter, grower, and layer/broiler).

Monsieur Mandiaye is still very active. He wakes up at 5 am and stays mobile until 9:30 pm - at which time he feeds his birds for the last time before going to bed. Mandiaye had previously sold gas. He had a warehouse and an orchard. He would like to develop his business in order to maximize his profit.
