A loan helped to buy réal wax pagnes.

Safiatou's story

Safiatou was born around 1968 in Sikasso. She is married and the mother of 4 children and lives with her husband and their children in a traditional family in Kaboila II, a popular district of Sikasso town, in the third administrative region of the Republic of Mali.

Having tried several businesses without any success, this hard-working woman started buying and selling réal wax pagnes (highly colourful and decorative West African clothing). She gets her supplies at the Grand Market. She is requesting a 4th individual business loan from the MFI Soro Yiriwaso in order to satisfy the needs of her growing clientèle. The previous loans have been correctly repaid. This loan will enable her to buy 30 pieces of réal wax pagnes which she will resell at the market for cash or credit to a retail clientèle made up of men and women. She expects to make an average monthly profit of 58 000 francs. This profit will enable her to repay the loan and its interest and to build her savings.
