A loan of $650 helped she will buy menestras of different varieties, firewood, fruits, and vegetables.

Carmen's story

Mrs. Carmen is a member of the BC Las Trabajadores. She lives in the region of San Martín, Mariscal Cáceras province, Juanjui district. She is 56 years old and lives with her husband and two of her 6 children. Four of them are already independent and two are students and still depend on her.

She sells menestras sancochadas, diced vegetables for soups and salads, and fruit extracts for making snow cones and sodas. She owns a stand in the central market of the city.

With this loan of 2,000 soles, which will be paid back in 6 months, she will purchase menestras of different varieties, firewood to cook the menestras, fruit in large quantities to prepare extracts and vegetables. This way she will have all that is necesary to prepare her products she sells and satisfy her clients.

Carmen says that Manuela Ramos is a big support to her and her family, much like it is to many other entrepenourial women. She works hard each day because she wants to buy a car so that her husband can have a tool to work with, and so that she can go out to other markets.
