A loan of $500 helped a member to buy fertilizer, rice seed and pesticide.

Cheoun's Group's story

Chheoun and her family are living in the Mongkul Borey district of Banteay Meanchey province. She is 49 years old and has six children. For her family, rice farming has been the primary source of income for about 29 years already. She also works for a local resident to earn extra income to support her family. This is the first loan for Chhoeurn and her co-borrower in a group of two with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). As the leader, she plans to use her share of loan of 1,000,000 KHR to buy fertilizer, rice seed and pesticide. She hopes that in the future she will be able to start up a new business in order to enhance the life of her family.
