A loan of $975 helped to buy more grocery items.

Moreen's story

Moreen is 29 years old and lives in the town of Kyengere in the Kampala East region of Uganda. She is married and has two children with one of them currently in school. For the past 3 years, Moreen has been working hard to manage her grocery shop, which deals in grocery items.

To help expand her business, Moreen has requested a loan of 2,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more grocery items, and will help Moreen to generate greater profits and business expansion. Moreen hopes that in the future she will be able to become a wholesaler.

Moreen is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Moreen who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
