A loan of $1,525 helped to buy more produce.

Sauya's story

Sauya is 30 years old and lives in the town of Bulenga in the Kampala East region of Uganda. She is married and has 2 children, and 1 of them is currently in school. For the past 5 years, Sauya has been working hard to manage her produce business.

To help expand her business, Sauya has requested a loan of 4,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more produce, and will help Sauya to generate greater profits. Sauya hopes that in the future she will be able to expand on the business.

Sauya is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Sauya who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
