Corazones De Turi (Cuenca) Group's story

The credit group, Corazones de Turi, is comprised of nine female members and one male member who fight to obtain better days for their families. They live in the community Corazón de Turi which belongs to the parish Turi, which is located to the South of the city of Cuenca. It is bordered to the North by the city of Cuenca, to the East by the parish Valle, to the South by the parish Tarqui and to the West by the parish Baños. The parish center is located 200 meters above the city of Cuenca. It's a balcony where people from Cuenca, national tourists and foreigners meet to rejuvenate in the beautiful panorama. The parish church and the knoll of Hitocruz are other very attractive areas.

One of the members of this group is Jenny. She's a very hardworking woman who has been an active part of the credit group Corazones de Turi for the past three years. She likes this form of loan because of the friendship and solidarity that exists among all of the partners. At every meeting they share fond moments.

Jenny is 25 years old, married, and the fruit of her conjugal union is that she has conceived two sons who are five and three years old. Her eldest son is studying in a little school in the town. Her husband works as a master of construction. She doesn't have her own house so she lives with her in-laws.

Jenny makes a living by raising chickens, cattle, pigs and crops for her household and for sale. For the past six months she has made a living by handing out flyers in the street for a prestigious business. The money from her loan will go toward the purchase of chickens, pigs and animal feed. Her goal is to have her own house.
