Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $1,500 helped to buy an over-sewing machine and a sewing machine.

Munira's story

Munira is a 51-year-old widow woman and mother of one. After her husband’s death she had no source of income to support her family. Fortunately she had an old sewing machine to work on; she gained an excellent reputation in the neighborhood, thanks to the quality of her work and affordable prices.

She took a 1,500$ loan to buy a new over-sewing machine and sewing machine to increase her profits. She is aiming to grow her business and increase her profits.

The story of Munira and her business is just one of the many examples of clients of Izdiharona for Economic Development.

She preferred to blur her face for cultural reasons.
