A loan of $575 helped to purchase supplies and animal feed.

Carmen Narcisa's story

Señora Carmen is a member of the credit group, “14th of August”. She likes these kinds of loans because they foster togetherness among families and friends. She lives near the community of Zhidmad in Cuenca, a place that has abundant vegetation and a cool climate. The people here work in agriculture and animal raising.

Señora Carmen is 28 years old, and she is married. She has three children from her marriage, ages 12, 8, and 2. Her first two children are studying in the community school. Her husband works as a bricklayer, and she lives in her own house.

Carmen has been preparing and selling food in her community for six months, and she also raises animals such as guinea pigs, chickens, and pigs. The agricultural activity is for her household consumption, and if there is a surplus, she sells it. The money from her loan is for the purchase of supplies and feed for her animals.
