Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $275 helped to buy more stocks of groceries to sell.

Hermie's story

Hermie is 40 years old and married with three children.

Hermie works hard to provide for her family. She runs a general store in the Philippines and requested a PHP 12,000 loan through NWTF in order to buy more stocks of groceries to sell.

Hermie has borrowed and repaid two loans from NWTF before this loan. She has been running the general store for four years and also earns an income from selling frozen foods.

Hermie aspires to save enough money so she can afford to send her children to college.
