A loan of $250 helped to buy more basic grains like rice and beans, among other products.

Ivania Jamileth's story

When she started her own business, firewood adorned Ivania's patio. When she began, selling it was a small part of her source of income since her husband, who works in Costa Rica, sends her remittances. Then she added cookies and candies until she searched for a loan to start her own grocery store. Unfortunately, she could not go to university due to a lack of money. Nevertheless, she kept working hard. Now, at 34 years of age, she has had her own business for three years.

Ivania counts on the support of her brother and her husband from Costa Rica. Now she dreams to keep growing her business through a loan with which she is thinking of buying more basic grains like rice and beans, among other products since her customers request this a lot. Among her other plans is to expand her sales and create a savings account for emergencies.
