Rugiatu

A loan of $300 helped to purchase more soap, paste, biscuits and drinks for resale.

Rugiatu's story

Rugiatu is in her early thirties and married with two children. She runs a general store in Moriba town, southern area in Sierra Leone. She started the business to contribute to taking care of the home.

She has been in this business for some years and sells soap, paste, biscuits and drinks at her house. Her business is the only source of income she has. She says that the main challenges to her business are insufficient capital to expand her business and sometimes the slow purchasing power of customers.

Rugiatu requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more soap, paste, biscuits and drinks for resale. She says that the extra income from this loan will help her change her family's living conditions and increase her business. In the future, she would like to expand her business more than ever.
