Zeinab
Zeinab is a 36-year-old Lebanese married woman of two children. She has worked as a private teacher in her house since 2006. She chooses this profession because she feels that she is helping students to get their needed education. Today, Zeinab is applying to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Vitas s.a.l. to buy new equipment such as a board and notebooks to help her in her work and to improve her teaching skills. She is very optimistic about her future and wishes to receive more students with the coming school season.

More information about this loan

This loan is designed for women in Lebanon. Loan amounts are much smaller than average, and the goal is to support businesses that enable women to work from their homes or further develop their small businesses. There are also fewer eligibility requirements for this product, as part of Vitas' effort to reach more undeserved women in Lebanon. By supporting this loan, you are empowering women in a country where gender roles and norms often make it difficult for women in rural areas to run a business.

Important Information

Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
