José Herberth

He works growing squash. He learned this trade from his grandfather since he did not grow up with his father. It takes him 35 minute to get to where he works and he rides his bicycle there. He works from 6am to 1pm.

The loan that he is seeking will be used to care for his squash crops, purchase herbicides and pay for labor. His dreams are to have more squash crops and for his children to grow up and have a better future.

José tiene 37 años de edad, logró estudiar hasta 4° grado, actualmente esta acompañado y su esposa se dedica a los oficios domésticos, tiene 2 hijos que viven en casa, y nadie más depende de José.

Él se dedica al cultivo de pipianes, el trabajo lo aprendió por su abuelo ya que él no se crió con su papá, para llegar al lugar donde trabaja tarda aproximadamente unos 35 minutos y se va en bicicleta, el horario es de 6:00 am a 1:00 pm.

El préstamo lo necesita para darle mantenimiento a la pipianera, comprará herbicidas y pagará la mano de obra.

This loan is part of a CrediCampo project to help rural farmers living in extreme poverty plant basic grains to feed their families. Excess product is sold on the local market. These loans are smaller than the typical loans offered by this field partner, and guarantee requirements are also reduced. Individuals who receive this type of loan also get access to technical assistance, information on good environmental practices and increased access to farm inputs like fertilizer. This is considered a high risk loan due to the population and loan purpose, and CrediCampo is one of the very few institutions in El Salvador willing to working with these farmers.
