A loan of $425 helped to purchase materials such as sweet corn, sugar, salt, butter, meat, firewood, etc., to make her products and sell them..

Lidia Suyapa's story

Lidia is 26 years old, she is married, has two children, and lives with her family in an area that is part of the municipality of Choloma, Cortes. For 9 years, she has worked in her own business making and selling products made from sweet corn such as tamalitos, atole (a corn-based drink), boiled corn, and montucas (sweet corn tamal with meat). She sells these products as a street vendor and in her home. She has asked for a loan of 8,000 lempiras to purchase materials such as sweet corn, sugar, salt, butter, meat, firewood, etc., to make the tamalitos, atole and montucas to continue selling them. Her plan is to continue growing and that her children continue studying.
