A loan of $1,100 helped purchase materials to make fishing nets.

Marcos Antonio's story

Marcos is 53 years old. He was able to finish his schooling up to the 5th grade. He has been married for 20 years and his wife sells fish. They live with their son who is in the 6th grade.

Marcos is a traditional fisherman. He was five years old when he began to work alongside his father. Ever since, he has practiced his trade and his wife helps him sell what he catches. His son also lends a hand in his spare time.

The loan will be used to purchase materials to make fishing nets because the ones he currently uses are deteriorating and he needs better equipment in order to do a better job.

He hopes to teach his son the family business, but he also wants his son to go to school so he can have a professional career. Marcos was unable to continue his own schooling and so he wants his son to be able to achieve this.
