Kadiatu's story

Meet Kadiatu. She has a table at a busy market place from which she sells onions, palm oil, rice, sugar, gari, fish and other ingredients. These are bought by her customers to make local spicy stews (such as greens, cassava leaf, groundnut soup, pepper soup, etc.) for their families.

She is 45 years old from Waterloo1 Western rural in Freetown. She is married with three children. For the past five years, she has been running this business. She began her business because she wants to get her daily living. She works at the business from 7:00 AM till 6:00 PM. She says that her business is doing well, because it improved her life and her family'a well-being.

Kadiatu requires a loan in order to purchase more cooking oil, rice, and cooking seasonings to expand her business. She hopes that the extra income from this loan will allow her to take care of her family welfare and increase her business. In the future, Kadiatu plans to expand her business more than ever.
