A loan of $475 helped to purchase small animals to fatten up and later sell at a better price.

Segundo Gregorio's story

Segundo Gregorio is 44 years old; he lives with his son in his own home in Caserio Culpon, a rural zone in Nueva Arica. This is a farming, business, and ranching community, located in the province of Chiclayo, which is in the Lambayeque region on the northern coast of Peru.

He raises and sells barn animals. For seven years his business has been located in the back part of his home. He has requested a loan from Kiva partner Edpyme Alternativa for 1,300 nuevos soles in order to purchase animals such as guinea pigs, ducks, and chickens, which will allow him to sell them at a higher price, generating better income.
