A loan of $200 helped to buy hens and guinea pigs in order to offer them at a better price.

Maria Jesus's story

María Jesús is 52 years old. She has a stable home with her spouse and her children. She lives in the village of El Frayle, a rural area of the Santo Tomás district. Its population works in agriculture, business, and ranching, and it is located in Cutervo province in the Cajamarca region in the northern mountains of Peru.

She raises and sells small animals (guinea pigs, hens, and ducks), which she feeds with natural grains from the area. She and her husband grow hard yellow corn.

She has asked for a loan of 500 nuevos soles from Edpyme Alternativa to buy hens and guinea pigs in order to subsequently fatten them and offer them at a better price in the restaurants of the Santo Tomás district.
