A loan of $500 helped to purchase chicks and chick feed.

Rumbidzai's story

Rumbidzai is a 29-year-old mother of two. She lives in the Gokwe South District of Zimbabwe, where she has been running a poultry project successfully for over two years at her home. She produces batches of 40 birds every six weeks. In addition, Rumbidzai volunteers as a janitor in local schools where she cleans playgrounds. She is also involved in community outreach programs.

Rumbidzai will use the Kiva loan to make bulk purchases of vaccines, layer chickens, and feed. She wants to venture into egg production since eggs are a profitable commodity on the market and are easy to sell.
