Florence's story

Florence is a 19-year-old entrepreneur from Gokwe South in Zimbabwe. Florence really values the education that she received and wants other children in her community to receive a quality education as well. To increase the quality of learning for other students in her local community, she serves as a Learner Guide, teaching students life and study skills. To earn an income, Florence has been successfully operating a poultry business for a year and a half. She produces batches of 50 chickens every 6 weeks and supplies them to the local community. With the Kiva loan, Florence will purchase day-old chicks, vaccines, sawdust and feed to improve production and sales. She will use the proceeds from the business to further her education and improve her family’s standard of living.
